DFW Leading the Way in Commercial Real Estate

For the third consecutive year, Dallas- Fort Worth has been named the country’s second-best market for commercial real estate investment. The region trails only Austin in the latest Americas Investor Intention Survey.

The rankings were based on the responses of nearly 150 investors from North and South America. Last year’s top market, Los Angeles, slipped to third this year. It was followed by Phoenix and Denver.

According to the survey, nearly three-quarters of investors say they plan to purchase 20 percent more real estate than they did last year. More than 30 percent of them also say they are willing to take on distressed properties, nearly double the number that said so last year.

As for the future of office space, a little more than half predicted that demand would decrease by less than 10 percent over the next three years. Another 27 percent of those polled believe that demand will fall between 10-30 during the same time frame.

As always, local knowledge seems to be the key to capitalizing in this competitive environment. Well-regarded firms like LiNC Commercial Real Estate have put teams in place to navigate these uncharted waters and help investors get the best return possible.

Most experts agree that the hot commercial market is likely to continue for some time. A combination of factors including available jobs, relatively affordable homes, and a business-friendly environment are still attracting more and more people to the area. According to one national analyst, there is literally no end in sight at the moment.

“I know I sound like a broken record, but these factors continue to drive demand, and will likely do so for the foreseeable future,” he said.
